Thank you. Yes, completely original (except for repaint in original colours) 1957. One of my all-time favourite cars.

Very cool. My father keeps his 1950s treasure too, which I believe is a copy of a soviet copy american car:

We had a lot of trouble keeping it in shape and then restoring it though. We drove it last time some 20 years ago and finished restoration maybe in 2009. Yours looks fully usable.

Interesting car you've posted - I've never seen one. What's it called?
Yes, this '57 Ford is fully functional and goes as well as the day it was made. (Sometime in April 1957)

It was one of the polish cars of soviet era. There were a few models and this is the earliest one.

Very interesting. The 1957 Ford uses a 272cu.i V8 making 190bhp. So, I think we'll not want to have a race!

this car was painfully slow, but it's not like you would want to drive it fast anyway. Top gear had a nice feature on the soviet block cars, where they were showing bunch of 'speed' tests. Pretty scary stuff.

Love to see these fifties cars in such good condition. I had the '57 Fairlane 500, but it was ten years old when I bought it, and was soon suffering from the Canadian winter roads.

This one will do 160km/h, but I have never been brave enough to drive it faster than 140!

I was the 4th owner of this car. Some rust, hence the re-paint, but otherwise a very good low mileage car. I suppose they salt the roads in Canada? That will play havoc with steel!

Yes, '57's look lovely from behind as well - big afterburners!

Very nice pic.

When I was growing up in the '50's/60's....our neighbour had one. It was a 300 with the 272 cube Y8, 2 barrel and three on the tree standard transmission. Had a nice throaty V8 sound.

My parents had a '56 Ford Fairlane with the 4 barrel, dual exhaust, 225 hp/ 312 cube Y8 and then had a '58 Ford wagon with a 2 barrel carb, 292 Y8 and three on the tree transmission.

Thank you. Yes, most of the Custom 300's were 272cu V8's. The 312 and 292 motors were usually found in the Fairlanes. A '56 with a 312 motor would have been a very rare car!
There was also the 223 straight-six motor. That was more common in '58 but you did not see many in '57.

I also used to own a '57 Ranchero which had a very unusual 352 (not 351) V8.

This is a '59 Fairlane I think. Taken with the Takumar 90mm leaf-shutter

I don't recall Mark's '57 Custom being in Australia. ??, but I do remember the 2-tone '59 Customlines.
