Snowdonia today
Posted By: simonkit, 05-18-2008, 12:45 PM

Another hiking trip in Snowdonia today, not the best lighting for photography but took a shot or two anyway...

1st one is Llyn Crafnant, 2nd is a view towards Tryfan & the Glyderau

All comments appreciated

Truly beautiful scenery, Simon. Your fortunate to have such photogenic magnificence near to hand.

You've got a lot of beautiful country there Simon. These two plus your entry in the Zen-stone-water challenge are very nice indeed. I think maybe the second could stand a little brightening in the foreground to bring out some more detail.

What beautiful countryside. I have a large number of ancestors from Wales and hope to visit someday. Thanks for posting.

Simon,

I've looked at these several times today and I just keep coming back to them.

What a beautiful countryside and what an excellent job you did capturing it.

Well done!

Thanks everyone for the comments

The great thing about this walk was that although the weather wasn't ideal for photography I spotted several great possibilities for use in better lighting, mostly sunrise - I plan a revisit or two towards autumn so I dont have to get up quite so early & of course the heather etc will have that bit more colour

Can someone please change the title of this post to 'Snowdonia yesterday'.
No need to say "nice shot Simon" it was after all taken in your 'office'.
Gary
PS your cameras probably been there so often you could have sent it there with someone else and it would have returned with a great shot for you.LOL

Excellent images Simon! Beautiful countryside...

Just a very minor suggestion/observation on image #2: My eye keeps wandering to that mound in the left foreground for some reason. What are your thoughts about changing the perspective slightly to have less of the mound (in the foreground on the left), or move forward just a bit or something similar? Perhaps because that mound is darker than most of the image... not sure. Otherwise it's spot on!

Again, great captures...

Regards,
Marc

Gary - strictly speaking it should now be "the day before yesterday"

Marc,

I know what you mean about the shrub to the left, it is a little dark. To be honest rather than try & teak this shot I'm going to use it as a learning exercise & return in better lighting to try & improve upon it, I'll bear the comment in mind for the revisit

thanks everyone
