Thank you. Yes, must be to do with the number of aperture blades, I would guess!

Six blades, six radial lines. The 18-55 is a remarkably good lens for its price. I used mine quite a bit before I replaced it with the DA*16-50/2.8 (even more blades!). Have you sharpened much in post, or was the car bonnet a bit dusty?

I used to dribble over cars like Hispanos when I was younger (figuratively speaking, of course!).

I'd love a DA! I've done virtually no PP, only a crop and a play with the contrast. The car was parked in a dusty arena, so yes, it's likely dust.
The owner of this stunning car actually uses it - Not an every day driver, but he uses it for holidays, long trips, drives around town. How cool is that!
