something for you Back to the Future movie fans
Posted By: little laker, 05-19-2008, 02:29 AM

I was at a car show on Sunday, and this old DeLorean DMC-12 was there.

Being the same car they used in the Back to the Future movies I though it might interest some people here.
Although I couldn't get a decent angle, or even a break in the foot traffic. So I'm not all that happy with the photo.

I also have a photo of the Blues Brothers car, which I might post tomorrow. Although I'm not all that fond of my pic as well (I liked the movies though)

Stu ... that's the bain of car shows ... too many people that walk in and out of the frame.
It is a pain though ... I understand. Sometimes you have have to put up with it though.

I haven't seen a DeLorean in ages ... I did see one at a show out here (had been privately imported over here) ... and it was mint as well.

Post up the Blues Brothers car ... that'd be cool.

On a side note ... I did see a "General Lee" mock-up at a show a little while ago ... but had no camera on me

DeLoreans are fun, but heaven forbid that the AC should die in the summer! They have tiny little windows, not really enough to ventilate the car. (The AC on one we were driving in a rally died. We completed the rally, but just barely!)

nice find stu....there's 2 or 3 of them around the lower mainland here I used to see when I was a delivery driver.

One had something like 40,000 original miles on it and not even a scratch anywhere I could find

Nice find. Nothing screams 1980's like a DeLorean. I have not seen one on the road for years. Last one I saw was in an automobile museum in Reno Nevada.

I saw a replica of the BttF Delorean in a casino in MS several years ago, but I've never seen the real thing.

nice find! these cars are rare indeed.

however as far as cars go this one is junk, really if you think about it its a lotus esprit made from stainless steel.

a heavy car with a junk of an engine, it is no suprise that the company didnt go anywhere afterwards.

If my calculations are correct, when this thing hits 88 miles per hour, you're going to see some serious shit.

I want one! It makes me feel nostalgic even though it's only as old as I am.

That's why I could never accept the movie's premise. No DeLorean would make it to 88 without something breaking (or braking) - the Flux Capacitor not withstanding.

Stu, I share your pain regarding trying to get peopleless photos at car shows - it's almost impossible (at least for me).
