This structure with it's lighthouse is situated where the famous Colossus of Rhodes stood in the city of Rhodes between 280 and 226 BC.
30s exposure. I even managed to catch a far away lightning in the background

This was shot very close to the one I posted here.

Rhodes is a photographers dream place, especially in the old town.

It is very nice indeed. I did not spend much time there but got some nice keepers.

I was using a gorillapod and with the fact that it was a little windy and very cold I didn't want to make really long exposures nor bump up the iso, though perhaps that could have been useful.

Well I wasn't going to mention that, but since you did, any chance you can darken it a bit? It kind of nukes the top right of the shot, which is otherwise fantastic.

Not sure how to interpret this - I don't think I've posted any night shots other that for one of the contests. So I can't tell if you are being sarcastic, or you've mistaken someone else's work for mine.
I know lights can easily get burned out in long exposures but that doesn't mean you can't try to tone it down a bit.

Definitely wasn't sarcasm - sorry. There was a great night shot, also from Rhodes, with a castle mirrored in water. I was sure it was yours - and I was wrong. I'll go look it up. No offense intended, I guess my mind just isn't geared to the mindboggling activity rate of the boards this month...

Oh well, this one is definitely very well done.

There you go: It was Pablom. Sorry - but you have to admit to a certain relatedness of atmosphere, and luring-people-to-Rhodes-effect?

Are you sure there wasn't a dimmer switch?
Different color temperature of artifical lights and deep color of the sky are well combined in the frame.
Pleasant to viewing night shot anyway!

Gah! MSL - this thread isn't even yours! Sorry again! I DEFINITELY need to sleep soon, rather than hang out at PF until ridiculously late!

So, this was MEANT to say

I'm not sure what you mean. I did play with the color sliders on Lightroom.
