Here's a better one at a better angle

Wow, on the forums my pictures are... less saturated? Interesting...

Second one is a lot more interesting. Better colors overall, but it is the reflections in the water that make all the difference.
The only suggestion I'd make for a future shoot is to have a look at the rule of thirds and perhaps give it some thought in your composition rather than making the main objects of your images lie along the center line.

Thanks for the suggestion!

One thing I was considering while I was framing was to keep the yellow tree's reflection in the frame - as you said, reflections make all the difference.
That sort of made the main subject fall in the center...

It is less of an issue in the second image because the reflections fall along the bottom third and that helps guide the eye to the rest of the image. Keeping shooting

You still have some fall foliage. Ours is about gone. The colors aren't really popping out a lot. Maybe a little exposure boost in PP. The second shot is pretty nice and would be an awesome scene if the sun was at a different angle hitting those leaves.

I boosted the colors a bit in post, to make the drabber browns look nicer (about -30 orange). But otherwise we are just on the fringe of loosing all our leaves.
