Dyffryn Mawr
Posted By: bychan, 11-13-2014, 01:37 PM

This is part of my daily (or nightly), dog walking route. Known locally as Dyffryn Mawr (roughly translated as large valley), it's a great example of a glaciated V-shaped valley.

It was very gloomy when these were taken, with the camera perched on a gate's pillar.

K5 and Sigma 18-50 and Cokin GND.

Great scenery. Like the first photo especially. Can feel the valley starting to envelop me.. the low, wide angle you got, really enhances this picture. Excellent shot..

Wonderful image. The second one I like the best as it captures a bit more of the sky and pulls everything together a bit better - for me.

It's a wonder how the K5 can take a dark and dreary view and pull the light and color that is available out of it. That is why I like the sensor so much.

Good using of leading lines, but where's the dog, I expected it to be bouncing about in the there somewhere.

Thanks all.
Keeping the dog out of the images was a challenge in itself

Is this the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 or the 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 ?

I have the f2.8 constant and I find this lens an outstandingly good performer. Always very sharp and good colour rendition. I had this lens sitting on the shelf for a long time but now I am using more and more.

Greetings

Edit
I just noticed that you have the 2.8

Agree totally regarding the Sigma 18-50 f2.8
This and the 10-20 usually go with me everywhere.

Thanks all.
