Car project progress
Lens: 18-55mm Camera: K-5 Photo Location: My garage

I am converting a 1984 Trans Am from 4 speed auto to 5 speed manual with a 383 Chevy stroker engine.
This is how far I have got

The car now has a manual pedal box [clutch pedal] and a gear lever coming up through the centre consol. I had a few sleepless nights plucking up courage to cut holes in the floor for the gear lever and clutch pedal, but now you would never know iy used to be automatic

I know nothing much about engines but the colors are nice! Will the hood be off when you drive so the engine is exposed?

No, unfortunately I will have to put the hood back on before I use it on the road

Very nice. Is the CSB a GM crate engine ? Power estimates ? Any suspension upgrades ?

It's a hand built engine that was used in a track day car originally it had 4 48 Weber 's on an Inglese intake but I think this would be too much on a road car so I'm going to run a Holley 750 double pumper. power is around 430bhp at the wheels

I have changed all of the suspension/brakes it now has Bilestein's front and rear ,40mm on the front. Front and rear sway bars have been powder coated and are fitted with poly bushes and end links also poly engine, gearbox and torque arm mounts
I've changed the rear axle for Dana 44 with a trac-loc diff

Some very colourful imagery going on here, I've not seen cars treated this way before, you just know how to spoil a girl.

Absolutely amazing work both, the picture and the car tuning.
I like cars very much, unfortunately here the laws are very idiot and you can't modify almost nothing in your car unless to take risk that the police takes your car.
Please, keep on posting your progress!

Love the old Pontiac's Nice job on the TA. I had 68 and 70 GTO's. Both had big blocks. The 70 only Dyno'ed at 405 horses at the rear wheels. Awful hard keeping rubber on the back when that much horsepower is available. I had to run ladder bars to help control the wheel hop .
Definitely keep us up to date on this.
