Birding with the DA*55. He was very patient with me. Taken near Phoenix AZ. Ca 11am.

Yes. He did not want to leave his cave. I eventually got to about 15 feet from him. He then just flew calmly to the next cave opening. I left him alone after that.

Yes, if his friend had not flown off I might have missed him. The camouflage probably explains why he stayed quiet so long.
