This is a picture of the Po, the biggest italian river. In these days it overflow, flooding a lot of cities, due the extraordinary amount of rain. In this moment the level is just one meter under the road of the bridge.

Totally under water.
They are not houses, just metal buildings that fishermans use to put all their stuff. There are even a lot of bar and houses with one meter or more water inside...
I have just been there, I wanted to take some pictures, but the police closed every single access to ALL the river (thousands of men are long the river right now) because tonight will arrive the maximum water level and for sure there will be much more areas totally flooded.

If you CLICK HERE, then close the add over the image clicking "chiudi", you can see in the first pictures exactly the place from which I took that shot, that was more than 7 meters higher than the water, just one month ago.

Nice mix of reportage photography and aesthetic taste!
Calm and ominous at the same time...

Safety first.
It's looking kinda grim for Northern Italy ATM, weather-wise...

Safety is important, but I was not going in a dangerous area. At least, it was not dangerous in that moment and for some hours more. But they block everyone because of course if someone enters they can't be sure how much time will stay and if will go out in time...
Yes, since I live here (2008) it is the first time that the situation is so bad! Old people say that last time they saw something similar was 1951!!
