We walk these woods so often, it's like their territory... last night, I only saw them a couple of times. The rest of the time they were within calling distance, but really not very close to me. I could always see one of the three was on the trail ahead of me, by the footprints in the snow. Most of the "walk" I was by myself. If the local wolf pack was near, they would have been a lot closer. They always arrive back at the house the same time I do, often waiting at the top of the hill behind the house. So this was rare, even that I could see them all at the same time. But for most of the walk, I can't make my way through the bramble and dead fall they do.
