New low-tech winter travelling
Lens: DA*300/4 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Québec

I might have posted this before but I thought, with the snow coming down heavily right now (first "heavy" snow fall this season), I should start looking for a more appropriate vehicle for the winter roads.
This guy seems to have it figured out:

There was a guy who rode his horse to a local 'country store' every other night to drink beer. At closing time he would be fully inebriated and the horse, knowing his way back, would take him home. True story.

When I was a kid, milk was delivered from the local dairy by horse and wagon. The driver and horse had been working together for years. He seldom went up onto the seat to take the reins except when a family was on holidays and didn't need a delivery. The horse just walked the route and stopped at for every regular customer without error.

Great shot, beautiful horse. As the pix is taken in Quebec, I'm guessing those are snow tires.

Yeah, well I saw this guy a little farther down the road and he sure seemed sleepy ... I was afraid he'd get on the highway !
Yep, one HP !

Thanks for the comments!

I totally agree with that, Daacon !
It seems rather "out of place" at first but then I thought it was a good idea !

Doesn't it ? That would actually be a nice ride when well dressed for the "elements" !

Another amazing story !
Who said horses weren't smart ?
Or, are they really or is this habit?

Better be snow tires here.
But with one HP and slow speed, it shouldn't be a problem ! ... maybe recap's ?
