Great photos, though! I remember seeing some.. um, "moosen" in the wild, and they were quite intimidating! So good nerves!

The ruts over, so it's not very likely they'd be aggressive... and moose judge each other's strength by the size of their racks. Looking at this guy, I'm guessing he's not very high up on the aggression totem pole. My arm spread is wider than his rack, so, I spread my arms , he backs down, at least that's the way it's supposed to work. I saw it on the nature channel.

That's not quite the approach I'd take with an unwillingly celibate moose, but I reckon y'all Canucks know how to make your own fun...

I haven't seen many moose at all this year, and what I have seen were so ragged and unhealthy looking in most cases I just deleted the files.

Thanks for commenting. I've had friends chased by moose, but I've never had one come after me personally.

That is a really nice series!!!! Gives a new meaning to Moose Drool - down here in the desert. It looks cold up there. What do you call all of that white stuff everywhere?

Feathers, everyone knows the lights are too bright and would melt the snow, so us photographers use white feathers to mimic the effect.
