Some DA*300 Goodness
Posted By: Buddha Jones, 05-21-2008, 04:36 AM

I am still pretty much confined to my backyard so this is where these shots were taken. I am still amazed by the detail in the 100% crops.

A wild flower and a fly.

100% crop on the flower.

A female House Finch on my bird feeder setup.

100% crop

Full moon from a couple nights ago, this on is with the Tamron 1.4x TC attached. I havent seen a moon that small in the sky in a long time.

100% crop

Between the 200 and 300, is either lens legendary? Have you developed a preference?

I use the word legendary because I've seen it in another description.

Great shots, I like number 2.
Forgive me for asking, but why are you confined?

I havent used any of the FA equivelants to compare them to and use as a reference but I would say that they hold their own quite well. Of the two however the DA*200 could be 'legendary'. It is super sharp and produces some very creamy bokeh, I think it has the best bokeh of the current DA* lineup. But I got the DA*300 because I when I put a TC on the DA*200, it made an extraordinary lens ordinary and that was unacceptable.

I had surgery a few weeks ago and mobility is still somewhat of an issue.
