Back to the garage.... studio portrait shoot
Posted By: hamidlmt, 05-21-2008, 09:11 AM

Back to the garage studio this time around, since the weather wasn't great the other day. Heather is a 17-year old aspiring model. I had her mom hold a reflector for a few shots. The two were lots of fun to shoot with and we're planning an outdoor shoot soon when the weather clears again.

All shot with the K10D and DA* 50-135mm 2.8 and FA 31mm 1.8 Limited.

Hy Hamid,

I like this series. Some may find this a bit too tight for me so good, in addition, I find the light well managed and model adorable.

Sincerely.

J'aime bien cette série. Certains trouverons peut être que c'est un peu trop serré, pour moi c'est tout bon, en plus, je trouve la lumière bien gérée et le modéle adorable.

Amicalement.

Hey hamid! I love the series, it is great! I especially like number 4, where the hair is "flying", it is a well captured moment! What type of lightning and bg's do you use?

You work the lights so brilliantly.
#1 and 3 are my faves, but you can't go wrong!
Well done.

Thanks KalOO! I tend to enjoy tight compositions so I can focus on some interesting aspect. Though, there are some that are wider from the day, just not posted here.

Thanks! I use mixed lighting.... Photoflex Starlites (continuous lights) and 3/4 CTO gelled hot-shoe flashes triggered wirelessly. I've been using the same light gray seamless paper backdrop for all my recent studio shoots. It can go from white, if your throw a lot of light out of it, to black, if I can get the rest of the studio dark enough. Or, any shade of gray... from dark to light. And, it takes to colored gels very readily so you can get any color. I only have blue and red at the moment.

She is a lovely young lady. As she gets more experience and comfortable in front of the camera, she'll get better.

Now that you said it, I think I was impressed just from the cautious and a little innocent appearance of her, I think...

Beautiful model. I love her eyes! (don't ask me why, but I like brown eyes more than I do blue or green)

Let's hope we all keep a bit of that innocence, no matter our age.

I've always been a fan of brown eyes too.
