As promised, my baseball pictures!
Posted By: Buschmaster, 05-21-2008, 09:45 AM

Took a K100D and Tamron 70-300mm to the ball park last night, here's a few shots of what came up! I'll post some of my girlfriends, later.

Nice work Ed. Look slike you where up there seat wise.

#2 is ball on bat it looks like good timing

As far as the pitcher shots to bad he wasn't a righty you could have seen his face. Nice work either way

As far as the batter shots I like them and just wish the ball was in them. Trust me I know how hard it is to get the ball in the shots with tball never mind the big leagues.

Great work over all. My dream would be to sit in the photo pit at Fenway park someday.

Yeah it would've been nice to see the pitchers face, but we'll save that for another day, too. I am hoping to get a little bit better seats next time. A faster lens wouldn't hurt either, but I'm pretty happy with the pictures I got as it is...

As far as the ball in the shots, it's in all but the last one.

The first one it's up the first base line
Second is bat on ball like you said
5th it's just in front of MVP Justin Morneau
6th it's the white blur/blob on the bat (if you look closely)
And the last one I just like the stance and quality. It's nice to have a nice sharp picture once in a while.

I'll post my girlfriends when she gets them on flickr tonight, I may throw a few more up on there as well.

Hopefully I can get to a ball game soon and get some closer seats. If I were real close at 300mm I could really capture some emotion on the faces.

Twins Baseball

Wow I think you got some great shots considering how high up you were. My 70-300 just doesn't seem to be so sharp at such a great distance when I'm fully zoomed like that (its a Quantaray).

here's my version of Twins' Baseball
Taken from my customary perch atop the dugout, so I was in the nosebleed section too!

Very nice picture!

My friend had a 70-300 Sigma which is supposed to be what the Quantaray are rebranded from and I found it to be a good quality lens, but not quite as good as my Tamron. I may just be lucky enough to have a really good copy of the Tamron, though.

Either way, I'm very happy with the bang for the buck delivered from this lens (and body for that matter!)

I love this series, more than on this side of the Atlantic here, BaseBall is not at all practiced. It is very "exotic" for me these images ...

Sincerely.

J'aime cette série, de plus que de ce côté ci de l'atlantique, le BaseBall n'est pas du tout pratiqué. C'est très "exotique" pour moi ces images...

Amicalement.

How many girlfriends do you have ?

Great shots! Especially from the seats you had, especially like the last one.

Haha, I suppose I should have said my girlfriends', eh?

Thank you for the kind comments. I'm quite fond of the last one as well.

You got some really good shots there. The second with the ball coming off the bat is amazing considering the conditions.

Did you get any nose bleeds up in that stand? teehee
