Both are good shot's. That first shot is really good.....I like the B&W conversion.

Nice conversion Pete, personally though I think that grass in the immediate foreground spoils the perspective a bit, have you tried cropping that out to increase the panoramic effect?

I actually quick like the grass in the first, it adds a bit of something to the foreground and also makes it feel like you are actually there. I could see it being a bit more serene and Romantic (big R romanticism

) without the grass, but with it, it draws you in. Either way, love the first!

Thanks for the thoughts people

I've never really done any cropping before so it's a bit of a mystery !
I left most of the the foreground in, as the flax bushs were quite strong and the those few big dried flax flower stems lead into the scene.

I'm interested to see what it's like printed out as my old laptop screen is pretty sad !

I know those mountains really well, having done national service in that area many years ago. Your photo brought back some memories of the mystical beauty of the place, which the B&W conversion enhances. Great shot.

Very nice capture! The B&W really works well.

I just tried a "cheap crop", i.e., scrolled up until I didn't see the bushes in the front anymore and personally thought the image benefited from this crop. If you regard the "neighbours" as the main motif then there is less in the foreground to compete with them.
