I love london in the springtime
Posted By: heff, 05-23-2008, 03:41 PM

I don't think there is anywhere in the world quite like London, and it's at its best in spring, so I took my K10D out with me last weekend, and this is what I came up with.

I would love some feedback and advice, this is only my third shoot with an SLR and while I'm starting to get to grips with it, I could use lots of pointers!

Russell Square

The Great Hall at the British Museum

The Japanese Exhibit in the British Museum

Around Tottenham Court Road

Covent Garden

Dinner at Belgos

Meadow in Wexham

Buttercups!

Thanks for looking

First and fourth are crisp and also the last one

You want a pointer just keep doing what you are, shooting away

cheers

I agree "Around Tottenham Court Road" is a great capture. Seem you have a good eye. A couple are a little soft not sure if that is by desgin. I would also agree keep it up. Well done.

I love London

I visited your beautiful city in March, and while here at home spring was beginning London still seemed to be entrenched in winter. We had sun in a couple 30 second bursts and my shutter was going nonstop, regardless of what my camera was pointed at, during those 30 seconds. I remember seeing that building facade from your Tottenham court shot and thinking this would be so cool if the sun was out and there were some shadows. But I have a few shots of it anyway. It was too interesting to pass by without one.

London is such a beautiful and fascinating city. I hope I can return for another visit soon. Thanks so much for posting your shots and bringing me back there. Below is my shot from the Great Hall of the British Museum. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks for all the responses - I agree, the Tottenham Court Road building is fascinating. I think some of my images could definitely be sharper, I think that's my main learning point at the minute. I love the K10D, it's amazing, I haven't been able to throw anything at it that it can't handle yet - or at least handle better than I can!

Your capture is great, Mel, I think the great hall is one of the real triumphs of modern architecture in London; it fuses seamlessly with the much older surroundings, complementing instead of antagonising it.

Thanks

Heff
