Amusing myself in the blind.
Lens: A-400 Camera: K-3 Photo Location: My back yard ISO: 400 Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: normhead, 12-13-2014, 02:50 PM

K-3 A-400 ƒ5.6 (wide open) Aperture Priority, ASA went from 100 to 400 to 800 in the time I was in the blind, shutter speeds were slow, lot's of motion blur,

It's a crummy day with not much light, never the less I decided to go sit in the blind for a bit just before dark. These would be boring images unless you've got a short memory and don't remember the last time I was out. For those with Alzheimers.

I got one decent abstract....

The first is a Hairy, the second is a Downy, taken from the same distance and location of anyone wants to check out the size difference between the two species.

The White Breasted Nuthatch

The ever-present Chickadee

The Downy at the hanging suet.

And back to the Red Breasted Nuthatch... also in the first image posted.

Greats pics! I rarely achieve such quality with my A-400 but these encourage me to keep trying.

You have what seems to be a great setup, Norm !
You are obviously enjoying every moment and that's good.
Great photos, by the way.

Lucky the spell checker didn't get me, it could have been worse...

It's like any lens, "if you don't like your pictures get closer". This is a consumer grade lens, so you won't get the same acuity you'd get with an A*. FA* or DA* but if you're close.... you'll get good images.

Ya well, I don't feel so fortunate when I'm cleaning the 400 feet of driveway, that's about a 60 foot rise, with my snow blower.
But most of the time, this is a great place to live.

Well, I do go out every now and then, but after a while, once a week seems to be about enough. It's been so long since we had good light....

ASA? Man, have you been around too long. That's okay, me too. I don't have Alzheimers but I do have the C strain of the Nile virus.

It's an old people code so the young guys don't know what we're talking about.
