Accident/Selling worldwide with Pentax K5
Lens: 18-55 Camera: K5 Photo Location: IJsselstein ISO: 50

Yesterday here in my living place there was an accident. As working for the press I went to the accident. Selling one photo world wide which I never expected. And a few others here to news sites in the Netherlands. Do want to share some photo's from it.

The authorities aren't sure yet what actually caused this accident. The only thing known is, is that guy from the house wanted to ask his girlfriend to marry him. Nobody hurt at first. She said yes and they left immediately to Paris. As the crane fell on the house of the neighbors.

This one ended up at CNN/the Sdyney Morning harald and a few others:

Ouch, it would be interesting to see the insurance application form for that one.

Can be interesting indeed. Several rumours are going around about how it happened, not the proposal, but how it was possible it fell sideways.

The boom was extended further than the crane could handle. The legs weren't out far enough and there isn't any visible counterweights.

Also, it looks like that little Peugeot is holding it up.

Yes, those were thoughts in the first place. But to be sure they'll be investigating it starting by tomorrow.

Nice documentary shots. It's great you were able to sell them to the media.

Yes. As you don't see it often in the media that photo's are taken with a pentax camera.

Add to that, the rear legs could not be extended much at all because of the Peugeot.

In other words, operator error.

And this: Sydney morning herald.
This is from Algemeen dagblad. News paper here in the Nehterlands: AD

As media is the company I shot the photo's for. AP from NY bought one.
