of this bird? I know it's a swallow but I looked up barn swallows and they have rust colored throats.
Taken with my new DA* 300/4.
1/800 sec f/5.6 ISO400
100% crop

I'll just post these here.
Coyotes are not well liked around here and in fact there is a $40 bounty on them.
Someone would kill one of these beautiful animals for 40 bucks? How sad.

Nice swallow capture too!

Birds of North America - Whatbird.com

Looks to be a tree swallow. Nice site above to identify birds.

Nice capture. What makes it even more interesting to me is that these birds are always on the move and when they come to rest it is usually only telephone wires.

I believe that they do not land on the ground because they would be unable to take off. They are truly a creature of the skies.

One account I read of them today called them an "elegant" bird and they are. I love watching them fly, they can turn on a dime and they love to pose, if they will only sit still for a second. I have never seen one on the ground. Very alert birds but if you have to catch insects out of the air to survive, I guess you'd better be alert:-). I would love to get a really good picture of one of them in flight but that will be a tough assignment.

I'm glad I didn't miss this post. The 3 birds on a wire is a wonderful image. All look great. Yep I bet you are going to enjoy your DA*300.
