That is very cool--I've been reading a lot of Plutarch lately, so it's nice to take in that landscape. (Though a lot of the poor souls who might have had that view from your mountain never came down again.)

To be above the clouds at dawn, what time did you set off in the night/morning or did you stay overnight on the mountain?

It's all a bit too dedicated for me, that's why I don't get these great shots like you have here, well done.

Well you might be surprised to know it's only a half hour's drive from where i live. Mt.Taygetus is really close to Sparta and it does have some good roads going up there. I did however have to wake up at 6:30am and drive up there with a friend (i never go alone in the mountains) trying to find a suitable location. Waking up early takes some getting used to but it makes up for it with some great lighting conditions. I just love to take pictures early in the morning.
