Abandoned house in Beiseker, AB
Lens: Not sure Camera: Pentax K-r Photo Location: Beiseker, Alberta ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/6s Aperture: F7.1

I am posting this picture which was taken by my daughter, a Pentax aficionada due to her dad's persistence with quality gear, because of its content: great details and colours ... good in my view for a "beginner".
She is now looking into upgrading her K-r to a K5IIs.
Here it is, with her permission to post it here:

A supportive Dad would run out and get a KIIs for a daughter with that much talent.

Love it, I love photographing places like that. Once I had my dog along, she got to the door way, sniffed at the stacks of junk and quickly went back out the door. She finally reluctantly followed me in on protect mode... Still sniffing the floor she finds a very large shed snake skin... Lol, the Heeler wasn't dumb.

As supportive as I can manage , I was trying hard to get her to take my old K5 instead so I could get the K5IIs myself !

Come on... at least a K-3 and the 35mm Macro Ltd. (Should be a kit!)

Well done at 1/6 sec! Tripods are ungainly sometimes, but can make the difference between a "nice shot" and a "wonderful image..."

I suspect that played into the specific framing/composition that you used since you were already at 18mm. Well done to make the best of a tough situation.

Welcome to the forum and that is a very good image, thanks for showing us. We have friends in Beiseker and have been there many times but never came across that old house.

I'm glad she can read why you're pushing your K5 to her!

I couldn't even tell you exactly where! I just go and get lost for hours and come back to main roads. And thank you for the compliment

You are off to a great start. So much detail, texture and colors. The DoF is spot on. Welcome to the forum and look forward to seeing more from you.
