Old House- Illustration
Posted By: regken, 05-25-2008, 07:03 PM

Spent the morning fighting the black flies in Baxter State Park photographing Moose. Saw this house on the way home.

What a shot - I really enjoy whatever it is people do in PP to make these look this way - I really like this, Ken.

I'd fight black flies any day in any May to be in Maine again.

You're getting better Ken. What's the title, "Fixer Upper"?
I think maybe the house needs a bit more definition, but not much, just to make it stand out from the trees and the foreground.

You're right. I might try to mask the house and boost the contrast some.

I really like the shot and I think a little contrast boost will help it even more.

Funny how many times I've also gone looking for this or that and found some totally unexpected treasure that turned out to be the best from that day.

Paul,
Since your are familiar with Maine you might like this one of a Moose losing his winter coat.

Nice capture, Ken. Great light and color. I like the way thre dripping water gives it action.

300mm seems like a safe distance from one of those bad boys, not that they are really a threat, but they are so big . . .

About 10 years ago I stood on a portage trail in Ontario for several minutes (wearing a canoe for a hat) waiting for a moose to decide which way to go. And I thought HE was ugly!
