My solo photography exhibition "Alleingang"
Posted By: KL Matt, 05-26-2008, 11:51 AM

Hi everyone,

I put on a small photography exhibition this month at the restaurant in our apartment complex. I'd love to hear your comments on the images:

Exhibit Gallery

All photos in this exhibition were taken with a Pentax *istDS. Lenses used include the FA 77, Sigma 10-20, FA 50 1.4, FA 35, DA 16-45, and K300 f/4.

From an e-mail I sent:

"The German name of the exhibit, "Alleingang", could be interpreted as a solo mission, a single handed effort, a lonely path. I hope the concept applies not only to my putting on a solo exhibit, but to the individual images as well.

I think we had enough fun [at the opening, there was booze] to make the irony of getting together and celebrating this lonesome theme shine through!"

Thanks,

-Matt

Nice shots Matt, I especially liked the one of the dog running in the fields, and the woman with the fan. I think you fulfilled the theme quite well!

NaCl(seems like a good thing for both parties, the restaurant gets some good free art, and you get some exposure)H2O

Thanks East. ;-) I suppose that has to be you, doesn't it?

You're one of the notable absences at that other place.

Matt,

Some great images here. Images 3202, one elderly man seated on the left of this photos, is great, somehow I find this composition, nice.

Should have invited you!

Frank, you're the only person I know personally from dpr that I could have actually invited to come see the exhibit. I can't imagine you would have been able to make it with the kids and all, but I certainly should have sent you an invite.

Thanks for your kind words and please forgive me!

I think that one's my favorite so far, too - it's hanging in my office as we speak.

Wow, Ben,

Thank you so much! Coming from a highly regarded pro, this obviously means a lot to me, and has caught me a bit by surprise. Could I possibly PM you and ask a few questions?

Thank you again,

Matt
