Memorial Day: Tribute to our fallen heroes...
Posted By: maxwell1295, 05-26-2008, 04:55 PM

Having spent some time in the armed forces (US Navy), I feel fortunate to have been in during a time of peace. I have come to really appreciate those who have given their lives....

Very Nice Maxwell1295. I did not serve in the armed forces, however my father and two brothers did and all three returned home alive, not the same as when they went, but alive. Thanks for this post.

Nicely Done!

My heart sinks everytime I see shots like this....

I have nothing but the utmost respect for the brave men and women who lost their lives during battle be them Canadian or American or other....

Very nice shots. A reminder that freedom isn't free, a very high price has been paid.

This is a really nice series here.
You have portrayed it well.
The FE shot really gives perspective to how vast the plot is.

Vast is an understatement. I was standing in the middle at one of the far ends. This place is frighteningly huge.....as are similar sites throughout the U.S. A very high price indeed...

A great tribute. Like you, I was fortunate to spend my Army years during peace time at an excellent duty station doing materials research. However, I saw just enough of the "real" Army to realize the sacrifice people make when they go into combat - even those that come out unscathed.

Thanks,

Jer

Wonderful tribute. My son just re-enlisted in the Marines, he had been out for 4 years but is now going back in for 16 to get his retirement. The first and third shots are my favorits. Thanks for Sharing.
