This is sorta an LBA thread as the lens used, the FA 43mm ltd is brand new to me. Thanks Heather! But this is really about the iris. I was talking to one of the principle gardners at NYBG and she said that the iris this year were the best in a long time. I agree: All taken with the Pentax FA 43mm ltd a week ago Sunday.

One of the two iris beds, the other one gets more shade so isn't as far along.


Big blossoms, some of them are about 6 inches across and 4 to 5 inches tall.


Example of the bokeh, it was a very busy background with multiple iris leaves and deep shadow.


I liked the delicate pale blue of this one. The 43 caught it perfectly!


Symmetry


Simply amazing color. I very very very rarely adjust color. This is exactly how it looked "live".


I'll leave you with a final. I call this one "Duck, Duck....Goose"

I really like the baby blue one.. i have never seen one that color before.. They are nice and big blossoms..

I got another cheapy lens yesterday and actually shot some of my iris's today.. Il be posting them soon..
