I’ve been waiting for a nice exceptionally cold day to try out this photo project. It was 7* outside when I did these pics. Originally, I wanted to land the bubbles on a snow covered table, but it was too windy. They either blew away or broke on contact. So I had to blow the bubbles through a drinking straw, hold it with one hand, while I took the picture with my other hand. Where’s a grandchild when you need one.
Actually, it may have been too cold. The soap bubbles froze within seconds and I could see the ice crystals forming as they spread throughout the bubble wall. I needed to come into the house about every 30 minutes to warm up and let my “bubble juice” thaw out – it actually froze. I found the bubble juice formula online – the secret ingredient is glycerin. It thickens the bubble wall to make it more durable.
