Porthcawl Lighthouse
ISO: 50
Posted By: Gareth, 01-11-2015, 01:45 AM

All taken with the Pentax K5 and my free Tamron 70-300mm LD Di lens! Shooting in TaV mode meant the ISO was at times up to ISO 6400 as light wasn't great and the glass slow but all in all I'm pretty happy with them.

A few from behind the lighthouse:

1.

2.

3.

And a few from in front of the Lighthouse:

4.

5.

6.

7.

8.

9.

10.

And a few that 'should' have a lighthouse in!

11.

12.

13. Can anyone else see a face in this image? Open mouth and large teeth in line with the steps?

Man-Oh-Man, you captured the very concept of power. Dramatic stuff, indeed. My hat's off to you!

Outstanding images. How does the lighthouse withstand such a pounding? The power in these shots makes you think one day the waves are going to clear and the lighthouse will be gone!

Really impressive and powerful shots. Outstanding! The waves are consuming it, online it shows the lighthouse is 9m (30 feet) tall, wow!!

Incredible! Hope you were out of the salt spray zone! Thanks for taking and sharing these images. Lighthouses are not only warning beacons but are also targets of the storms, hence their locations.
