Random shots that turned out well! Everyone well to contribute :)
Posted By: CJCram, 05-27-2008, 11:53 AM

ETA: Another poster suggested we open this to everyone and I thought this was a great idea. Please feel free to post your own random shots that ended up turning out great!

I couldn't figure out what to name this post, LOL! The first picture is from the K10D with a Sigma 17-70 shot from a moving car. I increased the contrast quite a bit to get the rays of sunlight to stand out a little more, but overall I like the effect of the motion blur in the foreground. Any thoughts?

This one is a pair of birds on an electrical wire. I used a photo editing program to add a cold processed feel to it and I think it turned out rather well.

I agree with your title and like them both for very different reasons. Well done.

These have come out well ... it's amazing what PP can do to "average-looking" images.
I probably have a few that I could turn into decent images ... but just don't realise yet

The first one I truly like.

You need to tone down the local contrast in the second one. That's some weird halo the pigeons have got going on.

Don't know if this was meant to be for everyone or not, but if it wasn't, it should, lol! This is a great idea for a thread! Here's one I was really shocked to see when going through my shots.

I was driving someone around Philly when we he told me to check out that the latern had actual flames. As we were creeping through traffic anyway, I took the camera, held it up through the sunroof, and just pointed in that general direction without any real thought as to what I was shooting and zero attempt at composition. As it turned out, all I really had to do was adjust the white balance.

LOL, I guess it is a good idea for a thread! I'll change the title and see if we can get everyone contributing
