Bird ID

Can someone help ID this bird for me, TIA.

They are called waxwings. There are several races in the family so I can't tell exactly if this is a bohemian waxwing, cedar waxwing or some other kind.

Nice shot and unusual since most people are so impressed with the way they eat berries that you normally always see them with something in their mouth.

Very nice metalfab, my bird book shows these to be Cedar Waxwings.

Thanks for the info everyone

Weather pending I get a hour to walk in the a local park between waking up and going to work. Now that I have a moderate tele lens I can capture more along the way.

Excellent capture of one of the most beautiful birds on the planet. While most birds look a little featherworn most of the time, the waxwings always look impeccably perfect and sleek.

Very nice picture! I used to live in BC, Canada for 19 years and I never once saw birds like that!

You don't always need a 500mm to get birds ...it sure would be nice to have though

Great capture of a cedar waxwing. They are one of my favorite birds. I've only seen them once and they were so high in the tree that I could only get their butts.
