Very nice portrait. Why aviatrix when aviator is gender neutral? Just my $0.02.

Thanks, everyone! Steve, I felt the term "aviatrix" helped convey a sense of the 1940's feel I was going for in the photo. And perhaps more importantly, I had just titled a photo of her younger brother "Aviator" a couple of days before.

Very nice. This is not a critique thread but I think cropping some of expanse of black at the top helps.

I didn't see it before, but you're absolutely right! Thanks for offering such helpful feedback. Usually I'm too close and don't have any wiggle room, but the composition is much stronger without so much blank space.

Noooooo! I was just going to compliment you on *not* doing the obvious, but leaving all this negative space above. Together with the title that is very strong, in my opinion. You could leave even more on top and on the left, where she's looking at. A lot of empty space to be filled with this aviatrix' experiences....
