The expression on that one suggest that there would be repercussions if we didn't' let it in, so OK.

Wow, how small is that frog? I am not sure I have ever heard a Blanchards cricket frog. We get a lot of frogs and toads around out home and in the parks to the east and west. They sure have a good time with their serenades some nights.!

Here is a link to the Wiki. According to the wiki, it is considered endangered in MN, so I'm not surprised you haven't heard one.

This frog was only about one-half to five-eighths inch long. The wiki says that they can get bigger, but I've never seen one bigger than that in my sister's garden.

Here is a

Now that I have read the Wiki article I know that I have seen one of these frogs strangely enough close to our front door. We usually have a rainy spring from late March through as late a mid June during which you can hardly find a day in which to mow your grass. As I have mentioned I live between 2 huge parks. The western one is directly across the street and has 4 ponds fed from a stream that does a big loop around our small neighborhood with the eastern park being a larger wet land and only 9 houses down our side of the street that our house faces. The frog could have come from either direction. I was small but was an adult about 1"to 1.5 inches long. I remember because it was so green in an area where the background was brown or tan. Really stood out! Strangely enough we are not in a flood plain area. Our house is some 8 feet up from the street and the ground level around our house is easily 18-20 feet higher than the inside of the parks. Makes for lots of wildlife pictures when I have the time.

out at the Topeka Zoological Park yesterday AM experimenting with my K 3 + Tamron AF 70 - 300 mm macro zoom ld 1:2, shooting in macro mode at 300 mm 1:2 ratio.

there is a small pond with frogs, two waterfalls rocks, tall grasses and lily pads, I usually find up to five frogs of different sizes there but only found one today. unfortunately, I have bad knees so all photos are from above although I did lean in as close as I could without loosing my balance or scaring the frog. I hope you like the photos.

A pair of American Toads, Bufo americanus, doing things after dark. K5iis, DFA100mm, small softbox for lighting. It has been a couple years since I managed to make it out at night, I've missed my nocturnal friends
