my first macro
Lens: d-fa 100 macro Camera: k3 Photo Location: my garage ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/3s Aperture: F6.3

just got my d-fa 100 macro from francisk7 (Thanks very much again!) and just had to try it out.

i just got a motorcycle part back from my friend who manufactured a midpipe for me, he's an aircraft exhaust fabcricator and does some pretty snazzy tig welding so i thought i'd try the macro out on some of his work.

this is a 15 file focus stack (it's way easier than i thought it would be, though very hard on RAM, i had to do 3 5 file stacks then stack those 3).

here is a resize of the original after cropping the junk off the edges. this pic is of about a square inch of exhaust, to get an idea of how small those welds really are.

and here is a 100% crop of the exact middle of the pic above. i can't get over the detail from this lens and can't wait to find some cool things to take macros of!

i hope this is in the right place...

Aww yes, very nice! I had your bikes Grandaddys...both a CBR600F4 and the fabulous CBR929RR. The 929 was the best sportbike I ever had. I spent close to 13 years with my 929 and loved it. I hated to see it go, but too many machines, and getting a little older...and I let it sell.

Enjoy your ride...are those carbon$$$ brakes up front? Nice. Thanks for the photo, and safe riding to you.

Haha thanks.

The discs are ceramic composite, the wheels are carbon.

Ive had my fair share of bikes (zx7r, rc51, rc8r, 690smc and now this) and I have to say the little 600 is my favorite by far.
