An epoch historical Winter storm is coming?

I love the excitement of weather but this may be too much. The forecast here just 10 miles North of Boston starting 24 hrs from now is for a snow storm of possible record proportions with 2ft-3ft of snow with a blizzard lasting well over 12hrs and temps in the teens.New York city may set records.Tomorrow I will fill my bird feeders and make sure my camera batteries are fully charged.I have plenty of "red solo cups" to get me through this dire upcoming event. The official record for Boston was set in 2003 at 27.6" and this may be a record breaker.--It is an exciting time in the Northeast corridor at present. The last pic is from the "Blizzard of 78" which to me was the worst storm ever in these parts.--charliezap

Oh man, that's too much snow for me! As far as I know, we here north west of Philly may see up to a foot... good luck, keep your red solo filled!
Nice shots BTW!

If this is going to be one that goes into the record books I hope to get some shots to document this event.--charliezap

Love those birds Charlie, stay safe if it becomes as bad as they say it will. We are used to a lot of snow but today we got the lawn chairs out and sat on the deck, +18.5 C under a blue sky, has to be a record.

You know, I moved to the Boston area this year, and-- this amount of snow is unusual? I just envisioned Boston had these kinds of events regularly.

I'm somewhere in the blue. We are supposed to get a few inches. In other words, a normal Monday.

Used to live back east and I remember how everyone stocked up before the storm. It was always kindof exciting! Now I live in Colorado - snow - no one stocks up - everyone heads for the mountains! Enjoy

I remember well the "Blizzard of 78". A week of shutdown. Good thing I had many batches of spaghetti sauce already made up. The very first roll that I took with my MX was of the aftermath of the storm. One memorable sight/image was snow that had been plowed/piled into a 20 foot high mass in a shopping center parking lot.

Rats, I haven't yet scanned my slides from before 1980, or I'd post them so you know what it might look like soon.

Happy shoveling!

Charlie, those bird photos are a great advertisement for the DA 55-300mm. The shots at 300mm are plenty clear/sharp and a great 3d separation from the background. Wow, just great work there. Thanks for sharing them!

Up here in Central Maine we're probably looking at at least a foot and a half. Out towards the coast it gets progressively worse. Stay safe, New Englanders!
