Deer in Yard
Lens: 18-135 WR Camera: K3 Photo Location: Near North Bay, On ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/1250s Aperture: F11
Posted By: ROBEFFY, 02-01-2015, 08:39 PM

Decided to get this shot today. We have 3 deer in the yard most days, some days 8 of them.
This group of 3, 1 not shown, has been fed by me for a few years and is pretty comfy around me.
I can carry my camera and stop to take pics, last year they would run away if it tried it. This is just after feeding them.
I decided to shoot in AV mode, usually I shoot in TAv mode. I wanted to play with the F11 setting, and I like it. My ISO is higher than it needs to be, but with the K3 ISO 800 is not an issue. I'll try for a lower ISO next time. The shutter speed worked, I have a very crisp image, hand held.
Lucky for me, the sun sort of came out. It was about -20C when I took the shots.

That's a great image. Tessfully's uncle, has deer in his year as well, they raid his bird feeders, but we haven't taken such nice images yet.

Verry nice....I just picked up a copy of this lens for my newly acquired K5 and can only hope I can get anywhere near the same results.
Thanks...Jake
