gday guys,

Long time lurcher, first time poster here. I thought i would throw up a few snaps from a car show i went to late last year, which was the first real outing ive had with my camera since i bought it in late september while on holiday in japan.

Years ago when i was a teenager i took photo's for a car club with a kodak Z740 (which had its own set of challenges) and i really enjoyed that. Now ive got a capable camera i thought it would be time to revisit a past passion.

10 years later, feeling a bit rusty and not understanding my camera all that well, here I am. If theirs any suggestions, criticms, improvements to be made etc. I would love to hear them! I realise that much can be done with post processing with this sort of photography, it is somthing i would like to try to avoid and improve my photos with just the use of the camera

pic 1 is an XY ford falcon gt, real specimens of these can be worth several hundred of thousands of dollars here in australia

pic 2 is a Holden Gemini

pic 3 & 4 you can probably guess is a chevy impala

pic 5 is a ZC or a ZD ford fairlane

Thanks, most of my knowledge about Australian cars comes from multiple viewings of the Mad Max series.

I would have guessed #2 to be some sort of early Datsun.

I"d have guessed #3 and #4 to be some Cadillac with those fins.

In any case, your pictures show off the lines and styling, and the rich colors of the paint.

Older cars just have an individual style that most newer cars do not.

I look forward to your pictures from the next auto show.

More great shots - I love the one of the Mustang. In '64, when I was 17, I got a brand new Mustang coupe shortly after they were introduced. I've owned a lot of cars since then, but that first Mustang remains one of my favorites.

Anyway - crisp, colorful car pics: very nice.

They are a truely beautiful car, im very envious of the fact you got the chance to purchase a brand new mustang back then. Cars certainly arent made these days like they used to be.

Thanks again for the positive comments. Ive recently acquired a sigma 17-70c, im very keen to get out to a show in the near future and give it a run. In theory it should offer a nice improvemnt over my sigma 18-250
