A couple of shots from a recent visit to New Orleans. We stopped at a jazz bar on Bourbon St. called Maison Bourbon and we were happy to catch a couple sets. It was a great opportunity to test how low I could go on shutter speed with the 135 2.8. The photo of the trombonist is at 1/30 (!) and the photo of the trumpeter is 1/60, and both images came out fairly clear. Not bad IS for 135mm on APSC.

Nice Images although I think 1/80 - 1/125 would have served you better I like to also drop my exposure comp down 1 or 2 stops to give some atmosphere when shooting musicians

Thanks. Yes, a faster shutter speed would been more freezing. The point of the exercise here was to test the image stabilization of the camera, to see "what I could get away with" in terms of shutter speed and the 135mm. I was really surprised to see how well the IS worked at those speeds.
