Aussie Bandit Wheelstander Shoot
Posted By: blwnhr, 05-30-2008, 06:17 AM

Took these back in March, but finally got the kick up the bum to PP them. I've added my own bit of PP over and above what the editors wanted, I think they came out alright. I know some people are getting over the vingetting thing, but I thought it suited these shots and location.

The shots are going to be run in a Holden parts magazine, HDP News trade mag, and another mag if they decide to pay their outstanding invoices first. Nothing like holding them to ransom.

Also the first images using my new logo which I think looks nice and professional, without being too out-there.

C&C appreciated.

Nice logo, and wild action shots. What shutter speed were you using for the moving vehicle ?

Just found out this shot will be the next cover shot of Dragster Australia Magazine.

Hahaha, it's all glamour until the months of waiting for invoices to be paid, lol.

Pic is cool mate, no stress.

Ive read that those are finally hitting American shores. though unfortunately it wont be a rebirth of the El Camino but some sort of Pontiac, I'm sure with some stupid alpha-numeric name. hopefully it will do better than the 'GTO' (if you can call it that) that was just a re branded Monaro.

I watched a lot of American shows with the Monaro on it and not one mentioned it's Australian roots. The story of the design and construction of that car is something unmatched by any other manufacturer anywhere.

The only overseas show to mention the Australian side of the Holden and HSV brands is Top Gear. Still, us Aussies know that we did it, and it is better than the American stuff, haha.

I wasn't downing the car itself but rather the 're-branding' of an Aussie car to sell as an American muscle car. the Pontiac GTO was the first 'true' muscle car and to think that Pontiac couldn't even come up with a new car design for that badge that even remotely mimicked the original cars character was just terrible. the car was hounded for having bland looks as well. nobody doubted its performance mind you, but it just wasn't GTO and the American public knew it. (by the way the heart of the car is All American, you can't deny that.) Pontiac didn't hide the fact that it was a re branded Holden Monaro. not that you could hide it considering the only major difference was the Pontiac grill and the later non functional hood scoops ala the original GTO.

Oh no, I knew you weren't downing it. Yep the driveline was US derived, but the surrounds were Australian. What Pontiac did to the looks should be a Federal offence, haha. The original lines were beautiful and flowing. Our second series Monaros had the scoops but IMO they destroy the lines.
