A 1979 HK Holden Monaro. 308 cu V8 Supercharged fire breathing monster. Originally made by General Motors Holden the Monaros were developed for racing in Australia. They were never factory fitted with superchargers.



OK wishful thinking, It is in fact a 1/18 scale model given to me by my eldest son. The showroom is the kitchen bench. In truth many years ago I did possess a much lower spec Monaro, a 1970 HG six cylinder 186S model. Although it was not a high performance car, I wish now I still had it.

It is interesting to see the separate evolution of the Falcon in Australia, once the Mustang was introduced in the US, the Falcon name was slowly phased out.

The Ford Falcon GT-F (left) and Holden Commodore HSV GTS (right) are common Highway Patrol cars here.
