Pretty cool. Bet you won't bother with outdated film anymore.

Let me guess, your camera has a red window for the frame counter on the back of the body?

There is none. Pentax 67mlu. I'm thinking that its more of the prints on backing paper sticking to emulsion. I used 5 rolls of portra 160 and had no problem. I was just surprised to find some markings on the kodak ektar negatives (not expired film)

Hmm... Did you get the backing paper wet before development or exposure somehow?

no. But i didnt develop the film myself. The lab develops the film, scans it, then sends it back rolled with the backing paper.

How and why? backing paper gets disposed of before the film gets developed ? Anyhow, that's how we did it.

in my case, they send the film back in the original spool (rolled with the backing paper) after they have developed and scanned it. Then I cut the negatives at home. Anyway I have emailed the film developer and hope that i will be getting a response from them soon.

This is a very well known problem. Lomo use ffilm emulsion from Kodak, Fuji etc but they use their own chea, crappy backing paper which is very low quality. The ink passes onto the negative and produces this effect. It's not the developer's fault I'm afraid.

I've no problem using Lomo 135 format film, it's often cheaper than the original of the same emulsion, but I won't use their 120.
