A couple from this morning - DA★
Posted By: metalfab, 05-31-2008, 07:30 AM

During the week my work shift ends at 3am so I really through it off by getting up at 4am to get a sunrise photo today. Forgetting the fact of where the Sun actually came up I was not in a good position (wasn't very colorful anyway). So, I just took a few of Vancouver's downtown core instead.

Nice to see a BC post

Hey I know that lovely area. I coach my sons lacrosse team and we have a game this afternoon at the Harry Jerome arena over on the North Shore (3:30). (unfortunately we are the away team and are coming from Chilliwack - bit of a drive (Go Mustangs Go !!!)
You are fortunate to have such an excellent city scape to work with. I bet the night light opportunities are just fantastic.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

As I mentioned the sunrise from that point will have to wait until late summer when the Sun rises between the local mountain range and Mt. Baker. I'll have to find another vantage point next time.

Hi, Lovely Panoramic shots with Atmosphere. IMO I feel the sky has made the meter underexpose the picture by about a stop. This is just my opinion, as the hazy feel with no real blacks or whites in the picture is normally due to underexposure. I love both the pictures and I feel good looking at them.
Thanks,
Kris

I also work similar hours, getting home around 2 am and rarely see a sunrise. A nice pair of shots and worth loosing a couple hours sleep!

I really like both... what a beautiful city.
My fave is the first one...
I have a question though. The first one is at F4 and yet the trees in the foreground are sharply in focus and the city is in focus... how did you do that? (I should preface this with I am half a bottle of champenoise into the evening...) do not drink and type....

Don't drink and type? Too late for that, I have Alexander Keith's Pale Ale beside me

The trees are a good 200 feet in front of me so the focus is pretty sharp across the image. That my guess anyway
