Another blizzard for tomorrow-YIKES
Camera: K5IIs ISO: 50

Boston already has the snowiest February ever with over 40" of snow. We've had almost 70" in less than a month. The all time Boston record for a winter is 107" and we have 80" now.We are on track for the coldest February ever. The list goes on and on. This Winter storm Neptune hits us late Saturday with hurricane force wind gusts near the shore and maybe over a foot of snow with temps in the teens. There is no place to put the snow if you have seen the stories on National news.Roof collapses are becoming a big issue and forget trying to pull out on the highway or any street for that matter. You can't see much around the corner.Today was bright blue skies and sunny but the wind was blowing all the snow around with the temperature just a little over 10 degs. This Winter will be one for the record books in Boston and surrounding towns and cities.Taking pictures around the area works up a thirst as you can see in the last pic. The next 2 days are going to be very interesting.Stay tuned boys and girls.--charliezap

And out west our highest peaks are white but the 4-5000' Cascades proper can barely keep half the chairlifts running. Maybe that Keystone XL pipeline could be turned into a massive snow blower, that would solve a few regional emergencies..

Hang in there Bostonians!

great supporting pictures of the cold conditions back there Charlie, as you say it ain't over yet. Doesn't look like it will be getting above freezing in the next week either. I write this as our daytime temps are in the high 80's in the Palm Springs area.

The architect who designed the roof in the first photo was an idiot. Nice ice dam on the left snow trap valley.

Right now as I type the new storm has commenced. One inch has fallen and they say 6 hrs or so from now the low pressure system will explode off the coast and produce near hurricane winds near the shore only 20 miles from where I am with blizzard conditions lasting until the afternoon tomorrow. The snow expected is only 12"-16" but the cold temps (teens) and ferocious winds will make for "hellish" conditions to be out in. "God save the Commonwealth of Massachusetts"-They do say that a lot.-charliezap

We've not taken our fair share of the snow this year and I'm glad of it.

Nice! I'm curious to see what things look like further out--- the piles of snow on the street in Somerville are about twice as tall as the cars in places. Ouch. I walked around Somerville and Cambridge yesterday and took some pictures, which I put in a thread here.

Capn, you've sure had your fair share of the white stuff. But at least it has given you some great photo ops. That first one is gorgeous.

The only reason I can like these photos is because I am, for the first time in my life, living in a place in which it does not snow.
