Great timing on that shot--and the FL is just right, too, to compress the parts of that "long" rifle. Speaking of "flinches," though, I've often wondered if on the other end a game animal (or human being, for that matter) had time to react to the sound of the flint hitting the battery the way bowhunters often speak of deer "jumping the string."

Indeed, very good timing. Did you shoot continuous to get it or just a single shot?

Very nice shot and great composition. I've owned several flintlocks over the years and while being very messy to keep clean and in good operating condition, they're great for getting in touch with the past. They can be remarkably accurate, even by today's standards, believe it of not.

Perfect timing, interesting to see that proud little gout of flame, which is probably too short lived to be noticed in its entirety by the eye
