Storm front

A good opportunity for a cloud photograph this afternoon. The storm was less exciting that it looks. It was fairly small and passed just behind the mountain visible on the left (Mount Bodumba). It probably produced a bit of local wind though. This scene looked very different at the beginning of December when the ground was absolutely bare. The grass is so long now you can hardly see the cows!
The best camera for the job is the one on hand and this was taken with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1. Shot in RAW processed using Photoshop Elements.

Name of the place hardly encourages one to linger!

This is an impressive cloudscape. Love the colors. Was the "weather" heading toward you or away?

The weather was heading right to left across the image. It probably missed my back paddock (about 3 miles away in the direction I was looking) by a mile or so. would do some damage to buildings if they hit at home. Interestingly, the thunder had not fired up at the time I took the image. It started about 15 minutes later and was quite intense. Thanks for looking

Yes, but it was only for a few weeks in early summer that they were really bad. And that was if there was good rain at the right time. A couple of severe droughts seem to have knocked back the breeding population and they are hardly noticeable now. But I presume they will breed up again. I still think it is the best place on earth!
