Autumn leaves.
Posted By: blwnhr, 06-01-2008, 03:05 AM

I've been staring at these leaves being dropped by some massive trees on my back fence for weeks. What is frustrating is I've been unable to shoot them because I've been leaving before daylight and home after dark.

Well, today I did it, haha. Please leave your feedback on my captures. This is something different for me so it would be appreciated.

All shot with the K10D and 18-125 Sigma.

B&W conversion.

This would be my favourite shot I think.

Autumn Leaves

Nce pictures. Most colourful time of the year .
Pity that most trees over here in WA don't acknowledge autumn.

Shot with my new to me Sigma 70-300 APO.

I really like the shot of the leaf on the fence. The DOF and focus make it very appealing.

Thanks for sharing.

I agree. The last image of the leaf on the fence is magnificent.
The local sharp focus on the fence frames the leaf beautifully.

Thankyou.

I was quite surprised at the shallow DOF even at 5.6, the compression from the 125mm focal length certainly makes a big difference.

Adam, my favs are the first one and the last. I've found that if you can get some back lit ones the colors can really pop! But you have to be very careful with exposure. The way you handled the dof on that last shot is very very good.
