A couple from this morning
Posted By: Eaglerapids, 06-01-2008, 09:22 AM

I got up early to let Spike out and there was a nice warm rain falling so I nabbed these right out the back door.

I reckon it requires real talent to take a very simple subject and make it into a nice photo, as you have done -- twice! Two very fine shots there, Eagle. Not sure which one I like the most; probably the first. What was the lens? ..there was no EXIF data.

G M, thank you for replying, I know these aren't the regular type photos we're used to seeing and it's nice to get a comment:-).
I'm not sure why you can't see the exif, it shows up in the FireFox plugin that I use, I almost always leave it intact.
These were taken with the DA* 300/4 which has become stuck to my camera, I've fallen in love with it.
The second pic was taken at F/5 and I wish I'd stopped down more but that may have impacted the bokeh. I didn't consciously take that pic with this one in mind but as soon as I developed it, I saw what was needed. I took the pic of the swallow last week (also with the DA* 300/4)and although there were few comments, I liked it. I like this second pic, also, but combining them, I have come up with this:

Nice sharp silhouettes. I do like the bird because it is dark as well.

I think the first two are very nice. I really like the silhouette and the interesting shapes it creates.

Couldn't see it because I'm stupid, that's why. I have a Firefox plug-in on my desktop at home, but I was browsing your great photos on my work laptop!

Wow, I admire you, I generally don't even have my eyes open when I let the dogs out, much less be able to look through the viewfinder. I like the one of the oak leaves very much.

How come it's easier to get up and take some pics than it is to get up and go to work?:-)
