Crawling around on my belly.
Posted By: Fritz, 06-01-2008, 09:26 PM

I spent some time today crawling around on my belly shooting some flowers and other things. Let me know what you think and what I can do to improve, comments are appreciated.

1. Strawberry.

2. Another strawberry.

3. Baby spiders!

4. Don't know what this is, some flower.

5. Chives

6.

7. Found this along side the road by the beach. I liked the red color.

Thanks!

Great shots, Fred. You have really done very well. That Vivitar really is a fun lens isn't it. Have been enjoying the same lens myself.
Thanks Bruce. Yes, that Vivitar is one of my favorites. Really a great lens. Congrats on getting one for yourself, it's a whole new world when you get a good macro lens!

Super shots every one Fred. I love the one of the baby spiders. Were these hand held?
Thanks Techiechick. Those little guys are kinda cute. Yes, all these are hand held. I would normally tripod these type of shots, but if I did I couldn't get low enough for the angles I wanted. Which is why I ended up on my belly!

Thanks Kim. The chives do come in handy for some occasional seasonings. I also have some rosemary, sage and basil growing in various spots as well.

At times like this I'm envious of people like yourself Fred.
Your able to get some beautiful shots by getting close to the ground.
Which I can't physically do, unless I get a 90 degree viewfinder.
That's where TLRs come in handy.

Very beautiful photos, one and all.

Thank you Gary. I just noticed that the second chive shot was at 1600 iso. Opps, that wasn't intentional, but I think it still came out pretty good. I'm not sure why I'm always worried about using the high iso settings.

Thanks Maxwell1295, I appreciate the comments #5 was one that I had to keep working around the chive plant until it felt right. It took longer then I thought it would at first.
