Food blogger - retro style! (Asahi SV)
Lens: SMC Pentax-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited Camera: Pentax K-3 Photo Location: Sweden ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F5.6

This was a fun and difficult session! A friend of mine that has a food blog (specializing in gluten-free food) contacted me for some pictures. She wanted a retro theme to go with her kitchen - no problem! But her kitchen was very small, so it was a challenge with both light and angles. We wanted a few pictures of her taking pictures in the kitchen, what better than old Asahi gear? Here are a few pictures from the session.

Pentax K-3, SMC Pentax-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited. 1/180 sec at f/5.6, ISO 100

Very nice, bet she is happy with the photos. Always liked my kitchen a bit retro.

That first one tickled my funny-bone...the way she is holding and viewing as if it was a point-n-shoot.

LOL, I tried the opposite while testing out the Q7, not used to using view screen at all. On the other hand my retro kitchen is 'rocking' like it's 1950 with no dishwasher, skinny cabinet shelves, faucet from the wall, leftover chimney that was for a wood fueled cook stove, and mostly retro dishes complete with vintage mix master and coffee pots.

Actually we tired that, but it would block her face too much. This is supposed to be "in the moment", as if she was bringing the camera up to her face or that she had just taken the shot

My favourite is the one on your flickr page with your friend has one hand on her hip and the other on her mixer. I think there's two reasons why It's my favourite of the set:

1) To me it just feels connected; the pose, the clothes, and the kitchen. The picture feels like it's just come straight out of a 50s newspaper or poster. I also think it would add a certain professional look to her website/blog. The other images are great, but they look like a model posing for photographer; whilst this picture looks like the kind of photo a cookery author would have in their cook book. Well, I know what I mean!

2) I really love how the picture has her reflection in the fridge. It ties the scene together and adds a bit of extra sparkle!

The community of this forum sometime really disappoints .. why people give likes so scarcely ?

Anyway - I liked it as a first one - love the results , Well done !

Great series! Hairstyle is spot-on 40's. These would work well with some "Aged photo" pp effects. Lovely lady!

I believe the Auto-Takumar 55mm f/1.8 predates your lens by some margin (say 55 years), but I could be wrong
