Woody Up Close
Lens: Bigma 50-500 Camera: K5 Original Photo Location: Woods of Otis - Texas ISO: 1250 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F6.7
Posted By: Rupert, 03-10-2015, 05:23 PM

Been trying to shoot him out my office windows but when I point the Bigma his way, he scadoddles in a hurry. Today I got lucky and got a couple of quick snaps!

I think he is a young Woody? The old Woody didn't run from me last year.

Further out in the Woods of Otis, I heard the dove on the right say to the one on the left......"You are supposed to be covering my back....do I hear snoring?"

Regards!

All you have to do for the Red-bellied Woodpecker is look at the top of the head 😉

Well, a Red-bellied male has a red nape and cap. The female just has a red nape.
